Explode Cicn is a program that will create an entire icon family from a cicn. It does this by plotting the Cicn in three offscreen pix maps of different depths and copying the pixmap data to the appropriate resources.
To use Explode Cicn, create a resource file containing the cicns you want to "explode".
Open the resource file with Explode Cicn. You will see an 8 x ? grid containing the cicns in the resource file. If there are any Cicns in the file, the Explode Cicns menu item and the Resources menu will be enabled.
Select Explode Cicns from the File menu. The resource types to be written can be selected under the Resource menu item. I had problems getting MacApp to save resources, so the icon family resources are written to the open resource file. No visual indication of the program's progress is given.
That's all there is to it. This program was tested on a IIcx and SE/30 with no problems. It is intended as a quick and dirty utility for my brother, so there may be bugs that I haven't uncovered. If you have problems, e-mail me at lasleyse@cscwam.umd.edu, and I'll try to correct the problems.
This program was written with MPW Object Pascal and MacApp 2.0 and is free.
